The Poor Man's Poker League is a poker tournament that plays every other Saturday, in several different locations.

04/22/07 - Howard is the champion, of the world.

In a stunning victory over Lora, proving that reading poker books really does work, Howard wins the Championship of the Poor Man's Poker League. Here is the breakdown:

1st - Howard
2nd - Lora
3rd - Kris
4th - Rob
5th - Aaron
6th - Chris
7th - Joe
8th - Kim

The league will be starting again tentatively on September 8, 2007, but keep in touch in case its moved back or forward. If you get a new email address, let somebody know so we can keep in touch.

In other news, Howard needs food. There is no more cooking in the Stein household. All canned goods can be dropped off on the back porch.

04/09/2007 - Final game before championship played, Michael unsuspiciously wins.

Game 10, the last game before the Poor Mans Poker League Tournament of Champions was played this Saturday, with Michael coming out on top, but it still wasnt enough to push Lora out of first place overall.
Aaron took second place for 4 points, Lori third place for 3 points, and Dale fourth place for 2 points. Lora, Howard, Chris, Kris, Kim and Joe all recieved one point for showing up and losing.

The Tournament of Champions will be held on Saturday, April 21st.

03/28/2007 - We're baaaaaaaaaaaaack

After a little over a month of down-time, poor man's poker league website is back up and running. Let this be a reminder: don't register a domain name with a company that you later end up using their mail servers to send roughly 2,000,000 unsolicited e-mails, thus shutting you down, giving you no access to re-register the domain's when they expire.

It's all fun n games till a website goes down.

02/25/2007 - Game seven, Howard wins

The poker gods were smiling on one of the games worst this weekend when Howard suprised even himself and took first place and 5 points, beating Aaron heads up. Dale was 3rd place and got 3 points to tie with Chris who was 4th for 2 points. Honorable mention to Michael, Lori, Lora, and Joe, who all recieved one point for their valiant efforts.

02/11/2007 - Game 6 of the Poor mans Poker league.

Game six of the poor mans poker league proved to be an exciting match between long-time rivals Lora and Howard. Lora ended up taking the win for 5 points and Howard took 4. Lori stayed until 3rd place for 3 points, Michael was fourth because he doesnt know how to NOT get less than 2 points. And Dale? Dale got hosed.

01/28/07 - Return of Rocky

Rocky has returned for Game 5 of the Poor Mans Poker League! Michael of course took first place and 5 points, because thats what he does. Lori battled it out with Michael for second place and 4 points, Howard went out in third place to gain 3 points and a distant fourth place overall. Chris was taken out in fourth place for 2 points.

01/16/07 - First game of 2007

The first game of 2007 was had this weekend as Chris takes first place and 5 points, while Howard takes second for the first time in 57 decades. It was an epic battle. Lora takes third place for 3 points to put her in the overall lead 1 point ahead of Michael, who took 4th place and 2 points this week.

12/30/2006 - No controversy for you!

At this weeks installment, Lora and Kris went heads up, and Kris took Lora out and got his first 1st place win, along with 5 points. Loras 2nd place win tied her with Michael, for 1st place overall.

Lori and Michael took 3rd and 4th place for 3 and 2 points respectively. Howard, not suspiciously, was knocked out first.

12/17/06 - History has been made

Thats right folks, for the first time in its short history, Lora has taken first place at the Poor Mans Poker League! Michael placed 2nd, because winning ALL the time would seem suspicious, Dale took third place and 3 points, and Lori took 4th place and 2 points to keep her rank. Newcomers Aaron, Chris, and Kris all recieved one point apiece for their valiant efforts.

11/20/2006 - Let the games begin!

The Poor Mans Poker League has resumed its second round of games this weekend, at Lori and Michaels humble abode. Michael, suprisingly enough, took first place and 5 points, Lori in second for 4 points, newcomer Rob in third for 3 points, Lora took fourth place and 2 points, and Howard, Dale, and Joe all showed up and got a pity-point.
